(1958-1975) Bob Clymire, Jan Swihart, Bill Simonsen, Dennis Kottmeier, Ruth Ann Mannella. This film has a weird history. Most of it is a movie made in 1958 (some say 1963) that sat unreleased for many years. It was called Teenagers Battle the Thing. In 1975 they shot some new introductory footage and it was released as Curse of Bigfoot. It’s the story of two of archaeologists and some students who dig up the remains of an ancient Indian mummy (not a bigfoot). The mummy, though ancient, isn’t dead, just dormant. It revives (scientifically explained!) and wreaks havoc. Though some sources say this went straight to TV, our transfer is from a beautiful 35mm print, so it seems likely that it might have had a limited theatrical release, perhaps on a regional drive-in circuit.
