(1950, Universal) Ann Sheridan, Dennis O'Keefe, Robert Keith, John Qualen, Frank Jenks, Ross Elliot. B Film Noir movies honestly don’t get much better than this (7.2 on IMDB). Ross Elliott plays a man in the wrong place at the wrong time, witnessing a gangland hit job while walking his dog. He spends the rest of the movie on the run from the killer, the cops, and his wife (Sheridan), who finds herself on the run, too, all the while trying to decide whether she still loves her fugitive husband. The film has a plethora of snappy film noir patter to go along with great performances by Sheridan, O’Keefe, and especially Robert Keith as the hard-edged police inspector. There’s a great twist in this film and the final scene at an amusement park roller coaster will have you on the edge of your seat. Waaaay cool. From 35mm.
