(1965, Anamorphic Widescreen) Gracita Morales, José Vázquez, Fernando Fernán Gómez, Trini Alonso, Goyo Lebrero. Pablo and Luisita, a young married couple, take a job in Germany working as servants in the castle of the mysterious Baron de Rosenthal. After a few days they come to realize that their employer is not your normal run-of-the mill baron and that they’re actually working for a vampire, whose beautiful bloodsucking sister (Nosferata) shows up later along with a bevy of her gorgeous vampire followers. This obscure Spanish horror-comedy successfully blends chuckles with genuinely chilling moments. The garlic soup scene will make you laugh out loud and the scene where the vampires all rise simultaneously out of their fog-shrouded coffins is quite creepy. Look for the wire holding up the vampire bat! In Spanish with English subtitles. B&W, from 35mm.
