If you had told me back in 1984 when I first started Sinister Cinema that someday (39 years later) a well-known Hollywood director would come along and make a documentary about my little video company, I probably would have laughed out loud. But one day in 2023, out of the blue, I was contacted by film director Jack Perez about just such a project. And by the time 2025 rolled around, “The Sinister Cinema Story” had become a reality. Jack covers the history of Sinister Cinema from its infancy in 1984 all the way to the present. He does this through extensive interviews with me in combination with a mesmerizing array of footage from a myriad of Sinister Cinema releases. I don’t mind telling you…he did a HELL of a job! I won’t say too much more except that if you’ve been a Sinister Cinema fan over the years you’re going to love this wonderful documentary. We’ve also added a number of extras to go along with it. Our director, Jack Perez, has been on the film scene for many years and we’ve included a trailer gallery of some of Jack’s best films. You’ll also be treated to outtakes, taken from my original Sinister Cinema TV show shot back in the late 1980s (I look so young!) at the Winchester Mystery House in San Joes—they’re a hoot! In addition, we’ve included a few of the “wrap-arounds” to my old Sinister Cinema TV show, one of which includes my lengthy interview with that dean of horror movie hosts, Bob Wilkins.
