MESSIAH OF EVIL (1973, Anamorphic Widescreen) Marianna Hill, Michael Greer, Elisha Cook, Jr., Joy Bang, Royal Dano, Anitra Ford. One of the most underrated horror films of the 1970s. A young woman comes to an out-of-the-way California coastal town searching for her missing father. She runs into a trio of swingers who stay with her at her father’s deserted house. Together they soon discover that the town is being taken over by an ever growing band of flesh eating zombies. The movie theater scene is incredibly effective, as is the supermarket scene. In spite of the low budget this is a well done, SCARY movie with many terrifying moments. Great color, 35mm..
INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS (1973, Anamorphic Widescreen) William Smith, Anitra Ford, Victoria Vetri, Cliff Osmond, Anna Aries, Wright King. Another blatantly schlocky ‘70s drive-in gem. Men are dying in a small California town from having too much sex. Government agent William Smith investigates after a scientist is found dead in his motel room. The trail soon leads to the beautiful Anitra Ford, whose research regarding bees is very suspicious. It turns out that women are being taken over by some strange cosmic force and killing their male partners by having sex with them! What a way to die, though. Woof! Rated R for mucho nudity.
