Disc one: The Greene Murder Case features a wealthy but disreputable family gathering for its once a year get-together at their spooky ancestral castle to discuss the contents of a will. When family members start getting bumped off, the inimitable Philo Vance is called in. Lots of twists and turns follow as Vance tries to finger the killer. Powell, as Vance, is simply the best. From 35mm. Disc two: In The Bishop Murder Case, the corpse of a man called "Cock Robin" turns up on an archery range with an arrow through his heart. Philo Vance is once again called in to solve the murder. His primary clue turns out to be a chess bishop. Interesting to see Rathbone (who gives a solid performance) as the always clever Vance.
