(1963) Aram Katcher, Lisa McDonald, Brad Trumbull, James V. Christy. This is a really grimy, shocking, crime-horror thriller, the likes of which we’ve seldom ever seen. Katcher, who’s not that good of an actor yet is perfect for this film, plays one of the most terrifyingly ruthless villains imaginable. He takes advantage of a middle-aged lady cashier in a robbery scheme and eventually betrays her and his cohorts in a grisly sequence of events that will make you shudder. Not to worry, though—he really gets his comeuppance in the end. Watch for the scene with a tub full of acid. Brrrr! And wait to you see the truly shocking climax, which is horrific as anything seen in low budget horror films like this. From 16mm.
