(1976, Anamorphic Widescreen) Dirch Passer, Kirsten Walther, Axel Strøbye, Preben Kaas. This film has been remade many times in Britain and other Euro nations. In this version, made in Denmark, a group of people are again stranded in a forlorn train station, which according to train conductor is “haunted.” Things take a turn for the mysterious when the conductor falls to the floor, dead—a knife in his back! Things get even weirder when his corpse vanishes into thin air. There are some significant changes in the storyline from the earlier versions—especially in the last half—but all in all this is a spirited remake with some nifty twists. Dirch Passer may not be Arthur Askey, but he does have some genuinely funny moments, one in particular involving a bottle of booze. English subs. Great color, from 35mm.
