(1967) John Agar, Carol Gilley, Bill Thurman, Ralph Baker, Jr., Roger Ready. We always like to release a few grade-Z classics—and this is definitely one. A top secret government experiment regarding the effects of cosmic rays on animal life meets with unexpected results, it creates a big dopey monster that goes around killing teenagers in a rural southern community. The script is ludicrous and the acting by the juveniles is pretty horrible, but Agar, Gilley, and Ready are surprisingly good. This movie is just schlocky enough to earn a “so bad it’s good” award. Very nice color, 16mm.
