(1974, Anamorphic Widescreen Edition) Senta Berger, Luc Merenda, Umberto Orsini, Anita Strindberg, Bruno Corazzari. This is a very well-made Euro-thriller with Merenda playing a bewildered man who’s lost his memory as the result of a car crash. He tries to learn about his past but is soon hounded by thugs who seem to know secrets about his past. He ends up in Italy where he discovers he’s married to the gorgeous Senta Berger. The scene where Berger is the target of a match-throwing brute and the wild chainsaw climax are both quite memorable. This is a most underrated piece of Giallo filmmaking, which builds its suspense slowly but steadily over the course of the film. Nice color, from 35mm.
