(1969, Anamorphic Widescreen) John Price, Preben Neergaard, Lotte Tarp, Lars Lunøe. In what is truly the most remarkable science fiction film we’ve released in years, Price plays a seemingly insane millionaire placed in an asylum after dangling a wiggling mouse in front of passersby and screaming crazed questions about the rodent’s physical reality. In his cell, though, odd items begin to appear with no explanation. Before long it becomes apparent that this unusual-looking man has some strange power, the likes of which has never been known to mankind. His doctor, first dismissive to his ravings, begins to realize the horrific threat to not only himself, but to humanity. This Danish film gem is filled with many amazing moments and the acting is superb. The operating room scene at the film’s climax is very memorable. Neergaard and Tarp are excellent as the engaged couple that can’t figure out the bizarre things that happening in their lives. A must. English subtitles. 35mm.
