(1956) Tommy Terrell, Arthur Space, Bruce Cowling, Gavin Gordon. Terrell and his robot, Tobor, land aboard an atomic sub that’s been heisted by criminals. The sub also has a ticking bomb on board and has been targeted for a nuclear strike! Gordon (Bride of Frankenstein) has a nice part as a madman who wants to rule the world. A little schlocky but good fun. This was the pilot episode for the Here Comes Tobor TV series, which never materialized. PLUS: VERTIJET (1958) John Agar, Maureen Arthur, Dub Taylor, Barne Williams. In this episode of the TV series, Flight, Agar is an air force officer testing and flying an amazing new jet that will fly vertically and hover. Taylor is his engineer; Williams is his jealous backup pilot. Great footage of Edwards Air Force Base. A complete drive-in intermission between films. 16mm.
