DAY OF THE NIGHTMARE (1965, Anamorphic Wides.) John Ireland, Beverly Bains, Cliff Fields, Elena Verdugo, John Hart. A real unsung psycho-horror gem. A woman seemingly returns from the grave to take revenge upon her enemies. Fields is wonderful as the psychotic dressed-n-drag killer. Definitely influenced by Psycho, yet unique on its own. The dockside climax is very memorable. This film was re-released in 1968 with some additional nudie-roughie footage which our edition contains. Look for Liz Renay in a bit part. 35mm.
THE SEVENTH GRAVE (1965, Anamorphic) Stéphania Nelli, Bruna Baini, Nando Angelini, Armando Guarnieri. A collection of heirs gather for the reading of Sir Robert Thorne's will in a forlorn Scottish castle, which is reportedly haunted and also the hiding place of a lost treasure. A séance is held prior to the will being read in an effort to ferret out the treasure’s location. Proceedings are soon interrupted when it’s discovered that the body of Sir Robert (who had experimented with cell regeneration before his death) has gone AWOL. They also find a servant hanging from a rafter. This rare Italian chiller is filled with loveable horror and mystery trappings. Italian with English subs. 35mm.
