(1938) Leon Ames, Charlotte Wynters, Joan Woodbury, Gustav Von Seyferrtitz. This Grand National quickie moves along at a brisk pace and although it has an engaging plot, the detail given to the whole aspect of wartime code-breaking gives it some extra appeal. The plot concerns Ames’ efforts at cracking a spy ring in Washington. Things get messy when his kid brother unwittingly falls for the flirtations of a beautiful female double agent, well-played by Woodbury. Not bad at all for a poverty row quickie. Released by Grand National. From 16mm.
