(1951) Kamal El-Shinnawi, Ismail Yassin, Souraya Helmy, Mohsen Hassanain. We are blessed with another Ismail Yassin comedy-horror film. Oh joy! This one is fairly decent (6.5 on IMDB) with Yassin having to spend a month in a haunted house in order to collect his inheritance. This is kind of the Hold That Ghost of Egyptian cinema. There’s even a killer ape thrown in for good measure. Like all good Egyptian films, there’s a belly-dance scene. With English subtitles. From 35mm.
