(1958) Michael Emmet, Ed Nelson, Angela Greene. It’s the first time in widescreen DVD video for this ‘50s drive-in gem! A spaceship returns to Earth carrying an astronaut who's been impregnated with alien embryos, also on board is an alien monster that terrorizes a group of scientists in their mountain laboratory. There are some really creepy moments in this film. Watch out for the "headless corpse" scene. Emmet is great as the back-from-the-dead astronaut who can't figure out what's happening to him. The great climax was shot at Bronson's Cavern in Griffith Park, L.A. This movie is oodles of fun and in the purest tradition of ‘50s schlock. An AIP classic. Transferred mainly from 35mm with some footage from 16mm, too.
