(1952) Gennaro Pisano, Marilyn Buferd, William Tubbs, Giovanni Amato, Helen Tubbs. A devil comes to Earth and bestows upon a photographer's camera the power to destroy any and all evildoers. The photographer uses this “machine” selectively at first, but the more he uses it the more evil seems to pour out of people until at last he decides to destroy almost everyone in his village. It’s quite bizarre. This is a strange, hard to classify movie. It’s listed as a comedy-fantasy, but there’s actually not that much comedy (although there is a hilarious moment involving a coffin) and the film has a distinct supernatural aspect to it. There are some mildly creepy moments dropped in here and there. But regardless of what genre you assign it, this is a remarkable film that explores many aspects of good and evil and the inner workings of the human soul. English subtitles. 16mm.
