ROOM 43 (1958) Diana Dors, Eddie Constantine, Herbert Lom, Odile Versois. Dors (who is absolutely stunning) plays a shady lady trying to scam enough cash to pay for plastic surgery for her sister, who had acid thrown in her face by her pimp! Eddie’s a cab driver who tries to help them out of their jam, falling for Dors during the process. This film is loaded with sleazy, seductive dialogue with moments of action thrown in for good measure. The climactic rooftop fight is very well done. Lom is at his seediest best in this forgotten exploitation-crime gem. 35mm.
