(1962, Upgraded 3/18/24) Gustavo Rojo, Abbe Lane, Gordon Mitchell, Piero Lulli, Franca Parisi. Rojo is good as a young Julius Caesar, who flees Rome because of a conspiracy against him. When he’s out to sea he’s taken prisoner by pirates headed by, who is at his snarling bad guy best and nearly steals the show. Caesar sends an envoy to Rome to fetch ransom money for his release. Later comes the big faceoff between young Julius and the pirate hordes. Cool! Superb color, Anamorphic widescreen format, from 35mm.
