SECRET OF THE MUMMY (1982) Joel Barcellos, Rubem Barra, Carla Bayton, Hugo Brasiliense, Regina Casé. Scorned when he announced his discovery of the “elixer of life,” a scientist, Professor Vitus, devotes himself to the recovery of a map that has been divided into eight parts. The people who possess these different map parts are (of course) being bumped off. But when the professor gets the map back together, he ends up making a startling archaeological discovery: the tomb of Runamb, the Mummy, in the sands of Egypt. Back in Brazil, the professor restores the mummy to life, who, in his previous life, was actually a killer obsessed with the image of Nadja, the dancer who had spurned his love.
