THE VAMPIRE OF THE OPERA—Widescreen Edition (1964) Marco Mariani, Giuseppe Addobbati, Barbara Hawards, Alberto Archetti, Carla Cavalli. An acting company has secured use of a creaky old theater for producing the group’s new production. They are warned, though, by the aging caretaker that the theater is the home of an ancient vampire, who might be awakened by their presence. The group pays no heed, though, and when the vampire really shows up, it sees that the most beautiful member of the trouple is a dead ringer for the woman he once loved in real life. Things, obviously, begin to spiral downhill from there. Lots of gothic thrills and chills in this well-made chiller. English subs. Widescreen 35mm.
