DEATH DIVE (1974, aka SUBMARINE OF HORROR aka FER DE LANCE) David Janssen, Hope Lange, Jason Evers, Ivan Dixon, Charles Robinson. Remember the film Snakes on a Plane from a few years ago? Well this movie goes back even further and could just as easily be called, “Snakes on a Submarine.” A crewman on a huge submarine, unknown to his captain, has smuggled aboard a big container of deadly snakes, which (of course) escape and start putting the bite on everyone. It’s a horrifying chain of events that soon causes an accident, leaving the sub stranded on the ocean bottom. Meanwhile, the snakes continue to terrorize the crewmen. Can the sub be saved? Made-for-TV fun with a solid cast. You might remember Evers from The Brain that Wouldn’t Die. Color, 16mm.
