MEET MR. LUCIFER (1953) Stanley Holloway, Peggy Cummins, Jack Watling, Barbara Murray, Gordon Jackson, Charles Victor, Ernest Thesiger. In this unique fantasy, Holloway plays an aging actor who hates television and what it’s done to his stage career. When he carelessly dies in a stage accident, the devil gives him a chance to return to the living. You see, the TV is the instrument of the devil, but it’s not doing well up top, so the devil sends Holloway back to plant TVs in peoples’ homes, thereby causing them misery—which is what the devil wants. Odd, yet kind of fun. 16mm.
