RETURN OF THE WITCH (1952) Mirja Mane, Toivo Makela, Hillevi Lagerstam, Sakari Jurkka. An ancient witch’s body is unearthed. A stake is pulled from her rotted corpse. Soon a beautiful naked girl is found in the witch’s grave. Villagers are sure it’s the witch returned to life. She soon bewitches the male characters in the most erotic ways imaginable. The scenes of Mane dancing nude are mesmerizing! Her facial close-ups are captivating in the most sensuous way. Later there are eerie moments with snakes and skulls. It’s amazing that this film, from 1952, contains many scenes of full nudity, all stylishly done. The blending of a classical-style music score with the film’s flowing sense of eroticism is amazing.
