(1958) Adam Faith, Sidney James, Carole Lesley, Terence Longdon, Clive Dunn, Charles Hawtrey. This is a fine little British adventure-comedy with a nice touch of science fiction at the film’s climax. A down on his luck writer thinks he’s hit the jackpot when he decides to write a book about the Loch Ness Monster. He has a hard time finding a publisher, though, because they all think it’s a hoax. Undaunted, the writer and some of his pals decide to assemble a phony monster, take photographs of it, and try to sell their scam to the locals in Scotland and, hopefully, their publisher. Little do they know what really waits for them in the murky waters of Loch Ness. From 35mm.
