(1957) starring Tom Drake, Shirly Eaton, Robert Robinson, Maurice Kaufmann, William Hartnell, and Richard Shaw. The film's setting is at an auto dealership where a couple of shiftless employees are conspiring with a tough gangster-type to rob the garage. Drake (a likable imported American actor) plays the garage manager. Eaton plays a sexy young thing who is desired by both Drake and one of the crooked employees. Soon things get out of hand when one of the crooks is murdered and Drake is implicated in the crime! At the end of the film it's Eaton who is more or less the criminals' downfall. This is good, enjoyable fluff. The Brits were masters of the 60-minute crime quickie during the 1950s and this film is a prime example. Watch for a small but nice performance from William Hartnell, who gives a wonderfully shady portrayal. A nod also goes to Richard Shaw who is delightfully sinister as one of the gang members. No classic, but good fun from start to finish. 35mm.
