(1939) Elizabeth Allan, Ralph Michael, Enid Stamp Taylor, Basil Radford, Jeanne de Casaslis. Allan plays a much-under-pressure college student who boards a train and comes down with a serious case of amnesia. She’s eventually preyed upon by an old crook who poses as her mother in order to usurp her trust fund. The crime element is slight in this unusual British comedy-intrigue film, but the performances are good and the film’s premise is very unique. Allan, of course, had been in the states four years earlier to appear in Mark of the Vampire. 16mm.
