CODE OF THE MOUNTED (1935, Ambassador) Kermit Maynard, Robert Warwick, Roger Williams, Dick Curtis, Wheeler Oakman. A fur trapper is robbed and killed by a local ruffian. The killer is caught by the northern police and thrown in the slammer, but he's eventually broken out by his equally ruffian partner. They're both part of a gang that's headed by a ruthless, female crime-boss. From 16mm.
NORTHERN FRONTIER (1935, Ambassador) Kermit Maynard, Eleanor Hunt, Russell Hopton, J. Farrell MacDonald. Counterfeiters are on the loose in this colorful northern western. Kermit plays a law officer out to locate and infiltrate the gang's hideout. A terrific cast highlights the proceedings. 16mm.
ROARING SIX-GUNS (1937, Ambassador) Kermit Maynard, Mary Hayes, Sam Flint, John Merton. Some of the best ‘30s westerns are Kermit’s films for Ambassador. Roaring Six-Guns is one of his finest. Kermit‘s a tough cowboy who comes into conflict with a vicious cattleman who stops at nothing to obtain grazing rights to a big parcel of government land. Merton is at his best as a really nasty SOB. There are some great action scenes. All in all, a very enjoyable romp. Highly recommended. 16mm.)
WHISTLING BULLETS (1937, Ambassador) Kermit Maynard, Harlene Wood, Jack Ingram, Maston Williams. One of Kermit’s best films. Kermit is disguised as a criminal, sent to prison, then put in a cell with a convicted bank thief in hopes of discovering where a fortune in stolen bonds is hidden. They escape together and meet Kermit’s pal (a Ranger) on the outside. When his pal is murdered, Kermit finds himself in danger. Can a female ranger wannabe save him? Top notch. Recommended! 16mm.
