(1965, Upgraded 12/31/20) Barbara Nelli, Paul Muller, Erika Blanc, Gordon Mitchell, Michel Forain. This is a great B&W supernatural Euro-horror film, much in the spirit of three other Italian chillers: Castle of Blood, The Horrible Dr. Hichcock, and Nightmare Castle. In fact, the only thing missing is Barbara Steele. The setting is an eerie castle-mansion, complete with torture dungeon and graveyard. Muller plays a faithless husband who, along with his mistress (Blanc), drives his rich wife (Nelli) to madness and death. After her demise, Nelli’s ghost returns with an insatiable desire for revenge. There are a lot of intense supernatural moments in this obscure gem. English subtitles. Widescreen, 35mm.
