HURRICANE HORSEMAN (1931, Kent) Lane Chandler, Marie Quillin, Yakima Canutt, Walter Miller. A gang of ruthless thugs holds a pretty senorita for ransom. Lane’s a sharp-shooting gunsmith who puts his life in danger when he takes on the bad guys and comes to her aid. Creaky but enjoyable. 16mm.
GUNS FOR HIRE (1932, Kent) Lane Chandler, Sally Darling, Neal Hart. A sheep rancher accuses a cowboy of cheating at cards. They step to the street and shoot it out. When the smoke clears, the cowboy is lying dead. However, another cowboy claims the fatal shot was fired by someone else. 16mm.
OUTLAW TAMER (1934, Empire) Lane Chandler, Janet Morgan, J.P. McGowan, Charles Whittaker, Ben Corbett, Gabby Hayes. A mysterious masked bandit is pursued by a posse. He eludes them even though he's wounded in the back. A female barkeeper takes him in and nurses him back to health. 16mm.
WINDS OF THE WASTELAND (1936, Republic, From 35mm) John Wayne, Phyllis Fraser, Lane Chandler. One of Wayne’s best B westerns. John and Lane buy a rundown stagecoach to compete for a mail contract. They’re snookered into buying a route from a crooked businessman though, and their first run takes them to a ghost town! The climax features a rollicking stagecoach race against the bad guys. A top notch Republic western from a stunning 35mm print! Highly Recommended.
