RIDERS OF THE WHISTLING SKULL (1937, Republic) Bob Livingston, Ray Corrigan, Max Terhune. One of the best western-horror films ever made! A cross between a western, King Kong, and The Mummy's Hand. A missing professor is found wandering the wasteland. He and a fellow professor had discovered the lost city of Lukachukai. He rants about a forbidden temple, a secret Indian cult, and an ancient curse. However, before he can reveal the location, the lights go out and he is stabbed! A rescue party sets out to find his missing companion. They soon find themselves inside a giant skull-shaped temple on the side of a steep cliff, threatened by devil worshipping savages and "living" mummies! This is one helluva B western. Wow! From 16mm.
