Jungle TERROR IN THE JUNGLE

(1967) Jimmy Angle, Kris Fasseas, Bob Burns, Fawn Silver.  Where has this movie been? A man puts his little boy on a flight to Rio. The plane is filled with lurid characters—a murderess, a mogul, a starlet, a couple of nuns, and three rockers wearing the stupidest mop-top wigs you’ve ever seen.  They actually sing a song during the flight with three guitars (where are those drums coming from?).  Over the jungle, the plane loses fuel and crashes.  Some of the facial shots during this scene are priceless!  You’ve never seen such blatant over-the-top schlock-acting.  After the crash you see what’s obviously a toy plane floating on a river.  Then the air crew begins throwing the passengers out into the lake—right into the jaws of crocodiles!  It’s hilarious.  They shove the boy out on a wooden coffin that just happens to be on board.  Later, after somehow surviving, he’s taken by a tribe of vicious savages who plan on sacrificing him. Meanwhile, his dad comes into the jungle to find him.  There’s a lost Inca city, an ancient temple, even some supernatural elements.  Watch for the Incan Busby Berkeley-style musical number on the steps on an ancient pyramid.  Good lord…  Everyone on Earth needs to see this movie.  Great color, 35mm.
