(1938) Fred Scott, Alyce Ardell, Al St. John, Charlie King, Karl Hackett. Scott and Al are nabbed as rustlers as they ride into town. They’re saved, though, before a lynch party can string them up. They set out to break up the rustling ring and find the killer of Fred’s uncle. Scott’s western’s weren’t exactly high art, but this is probably his best film, and it does have a fine cast, with Hackett and King as corrupt town officials. Ardell has a nice bit as a French schoolteacher. 16mm.
