(1953, Murray/Harris) Hoot Gibson, Laurie Anders, Harry Lauter, Johnny Mack Brown, Preston Foster, Jimmy Wakely, Ken Murray, Bob Bray, Buddy Baer. This very obscure title was Hoot’s last hurrah as a leading man, having not starred since his Monogram days back in ‘44. A mysterious bandit, “El Coyote” fights against outlaws trying to form a corrupt cattlemen’s association. Truthfully, this isn’t all that good of a movie, but the card room scene with Brown, Foster, and Wakely is pretty amusing and it’s nice to see Hoot one last time. Anders had hips like Claudia Cardinale. 16mm.
