(1935, Spectrum) Bill Cody, Marie Burton, Earle Hodgins, Stuart James, Roger Williams. Here he is, our favorite guilty pleasure, Bill Cody, in another rough-em-up B western. Bill poses as an outlaw in order to expose a crooked scheme to acquire a ranch property loaded with gold. Cody wasn’t the best at line memorization, and there was certainly no money in the budget for too many retakes, so it’s with bated breath that you can expect numerous line flubs. Yet as cheap as they are, Cody’s Spectrum series has a lot of winners, this one included. Cody had the coolest cowboy hats of all. 16mm.
