(1931, Allied) Hoot Gibson, Lina Basquette, Mathilde Comont. A great Gibson film with Hoot as Peaceful Patton, a passive fellow who is mistaken for a tough outlaw. Hoot takes advantage of this and pretends to be the “hard hombre,” using his reputation to force local ranchers to clear up some land disputes. Things go well until Hoot’s battleaxe mom shows up. Hoot’s western humor once again shines through. 16mm.
