(1964, Widescreen Edition) Richard Harrison, Moira Orfei, Piero Lulli, Giuliano Gemma. Lulli plays an insane Roman Emperor who is both paranoid and bloodthirsty, which is obviously not a good combination for the local Roman citizens. Harrison, who plays his head of security, is actually conspiring to overthrow his boss, and occasionally wreaks havoc by donning a wolf costume and disrupting the palace. Lulli’s Egyptian mistress figures out where Harrison and his comrades are hiding out and a huge skirmish ensues. There are lots of plots twists after this, laden with a generous helping of sword-on-sword encounters, culminating with a big palace battle at the film’s climax. Lulli is great as the totally loony-tunes tyrant. Harrison looks terrific! This film is dubbed in English, but there are three very short snippets that are in Italian language. Gorgeous Color, widescreen, from 35mm.
