Spies Espionage and Intrigue

Spies Espionage and Intrigue SERGEANT AND THE SPY, THE

(1954) Richard Ney, Janis Carter, John Steinmetz, Lucian B. Garcia. This could be the Plan 9 of spy movies. It can only be described as a spy comedy-thriller gone horribly wrong. Needless to say, it’s a must for bad film aficionados. The plot has the mild-mannered American (though obviously British) sergeant being sent to London to deliver an important letter containing some kind of sinister information. A bunch of spies are after the letter. The bad guys all wear these dorky sunglasses. There’s also a 15-minute dream sequence that’s filled with some really goofy sequences. Truly awful in an enjoyable way. From 16mm.
