(1962, Upgraded 3/10/23) Vladimir Korenev, Mikhail Kozakov, Anastasia Vertinskaya, Nikolai Simonov. Coastal villages live in dread of a mysterious ocean creature known as "the sea devil." There's much mystery as to who or what the creature really is. It turns out that he's a product of man and not of nature. Some great twists and turns in this film with lots of underwater fantasy and sci-fi. Interesting English-dubbed Soviet sci-fi with some beautiful visuals. The Amphibian man is presented in the European 1.66 widescreen format for the first time. Beautiful color, from 35mm.
