Sci Fi HIDEOUS SUN DEMON—Anamorphic 1.85:1 Widescreen Edition

(1958, Anamorphic, Upgraded 12/29/23) Robert Clarke, Patricia Manning, Nan Peterson, Patrick Whyte, Fred La Porta, Peter Similuk.  Clarke produced, directed, and starred in this psychotronic gem about a scientist who's exposed to a dangerous radioactive isotope. This near-death exposure lands him in the hospital, but when he hits the sundeck with the other patients he finds himself transforming into a snarling, lizard-like monster after he's touched by the rays of the sun.  This is a cheap but extremely lovable drive-in B-classic.  There are lots of great scenes with Clarke marauding around as the title-monster, but the most unforgettable moment is the shot of Nan Peterson hanging out of her appartment window, screaming her lungs out while her gangster boyfriend is murdered by Clarke's horrifying creature.  Cool.  Also look for the infamous 'rat scene', which is missing from many prints. This film and The Man from Planet X are the two titles Clarke is remembered for most.  PLEASE NOTE:  Hideous Sun Demon was originally framed for the anamorphic 1.85:5 format, which we offer for the first time in this edition.  From a very nice 35mm theatrical print.
