(1959, upgraded 4/24/23) Susan Cabot, Michael Mark, Fred Eisley, Barboura Morris, directed by Roger Corman. An eccentric scientist develops a revolutionary youth-restoring beauty cream for the aging head of a cosmetics firm (Cabot). To her amazement, she finds that when she uses it on herself she becomes 20 years younger in appearance! There's just one little problem—she also finds herself occasionally changing into a horrible, wasp-like monster with a penchant for killing. A bit on the schlocky side (which we love) but overall this was a well done, low budget sci-fi quickie that was a favorite on the drive-in circuit. Barboura Morris is a fine actress and a breathtaking beauty. The climactic scene is very memorable as Morris finds herself backed onto a balcony with the wasp-like monster bearing down on her. Good to see Michael Mark (who was in five of Universal's original Frankenstein films) in a good old-fashioned monster movie again. 73 minutes, from a beautiful 35mm print.
