Mystery MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

(1934) Leslie Banks, Peter Lorre, Edna Best, Nova Pilbeam, George Curzon, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. A married couple, vacationing in Switzerland, becomes aware of an assassination plot. Before they can inform the police, though, their daughter is kidnapped to keep them quiet.  Things end up in a strange London church that's being used as a front for a spy ring's nefarious activities.  This fine early Alfred Hichcock thriller has plenty of great moments, including lots of fine camera shots (some GREAT close-ups) and even a touch of humor.  The cast is superb, especially Lorre, who gives a laid back yet decidedly sinister performance.  The rooftop climax is most memorable.  From a beautiful 35mm print.
