Mystery SHADOW, THE: HOUSE OF MYSTERY

(1932) James Durkin, Geneva Mitchell, Leyland Hodgson, Wilfred Lucas. What a rarity! This is one of the ultra-rare early ‘30s Shadow shorts that collectors have been after for years. The story begins with two hunters tramping through the woods at night. They come upon a foreboding summer cottage. In it lies the dead body of a beautiful woman. Who’s the killer? The investigation leads to the manor of a rich socialite where suspects begin to gather, including a sinister-looking butler. The Shadow, acting more-or-less as the film’s narrator, helps the audience figure out who’s guilty and who’s not. This video transfer is just beautiful. PLUS: We’ve also thrown in two other equally rare Shadow shorts (both from the early ‘30s) to go along with it. An absolute must! From 35mm.
