(1936) Guy Standing, Frances Drake, Tom Brown, Janet Beecher, Robert Gleckler. A vile gangster pushes Brown toward a life of crime, ordering him to kill a horse jockey. He refuses. The crook tells Brown, who’s oblivious to his real parents, that he is his dad and that the Governor’s wife is his mom! Brown guns him down and is soon sentenced to hang. Drake, as Brown’s gal pal, is precious. Gleckler is great as his slimy dad. Based on a Broadway play. From 16mm.
