Second feature: HATBOX MYSTERY (1947, Screen Guild) with Tom Neal, Pamela Blake, and Allen Jenkins. This is a nifty streamliner mystery film about a murder that occurs when a camera, hidden in a hatbox for the purpose of sneaking a picture of someone, actually turns out to be a loaded gun that kills the intended photographic victim. Nifty. We’ve thrown in a drive-in intermission between films. Mastered from 16mm.
