This gothic chiller starts with a terrific scene: on a dark stormy night, a scream is heard in the tower room of a very spooky old castle. A man is found there, dead—blood dripping to the floor. Later, following the death of her father, a young heiress goes to live with her mysterious Uncle Silas Ruthyn. Silas’ mansion is a decidedly creepy place, filled with an atmosphere of subtle terror.
