Horror DRACULA (1968)
(1968) Denholm Elliot, Bernard Archard, Susan George, James Maxwell, Suzanne Neve.
Elliot (from the Indiana Jones movies) does a fine job in this British TV film about the bloody Count. The movie starts in London where Lucy (George) is a victim of the Count’s fangs.
In this version Jonathan Harker, not Renfield, is the fly-eating, asylum maniac.
George is stunning as Lucy and the attack on her by Dracula never would have made it past the U.S. TV censors. To complement the proceedings, Archard gives a different, but wonderful take on Van Helsing’s character.
The climax is similar to Chris Lee’s demise in
Horror of Dracula
This film is a real gem.
