(1944, Upgraded 9/19/21) J. Carroll Naish, Ralph Morgan, Wanda McKay, Tala Birell, Glenn Strange. A very perverse plotline not often found in low budget cheapies from the ‘30s and ‘40s. A mad doctor falls in love with the daughter of a classical pianist. She spurns him...big mistake! He then injects the pianist with a serum that turns him into a horrible monster, bargaining the cure for the hand of the daughter. There's a killer ape in the lab, too! No classic, but this is definitely one of PRC’s better horror efforts. Lots of schlocky fun! From 35mm.
