THE NEXT VICTIM (1971) Considered a landmark giallo film. An ambassador's sleazy wife discovers that either her husband, her ex-lover, or her current lover might actually be a sadistic slasher who has been slaying many women. The scene of the maniac killing a prostitute in a car is most disturbing. Grim, engaging, and stylishly done. Aka Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh. Nice color, widescreen, from 35mm. PERFUME OF THE LADY IN BLACK (1974) Mimsy Farmer, Mario Scaccia, Maurizio Bonuglia. A fine psycho-horror film with Farmer as a mentally disturbed lady who’s dangerously close to the deep end. She has visions; soon murders occur, but this is not a slasher film at all, but a stylishly done Euro-horror film with an intricate plot. Color, scope, 35mm.
