STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE (1973) Bonnie Bedelia, Ken Howard, Anthony Zerbe. Howard picks up a pretty, yet quirky vagabond woman in the desert. She tricks him into taking her to her shack where she breaks his leg with the blunt end of an axe! After that it’s very comparable to Stephen King’s Misery. Bedelia is wonderful as the burlap-dressed psycho sweetie whom Howard knows is dangerous yet finds irresistible. Our highest recommendation. From a nice color 16mm print. WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON (1973) Dean Stockwell, Biff McGuire, Jane House, Michael Dunn. A cool werewolf movie. The President’s press secretary is bitten by a werewolf. He then wreaks havoc in the nation’s capital. This enjoyable chiller really pays homage to The Wolf Man. “Whoever is bitten by a werewolf and lives, becomes a werewolf himself.” Stockwell sees pentagrams in the palms of his victims. Makeup and transformation scenes are quite good. Color, 16mm.
